Computer monitors and CRT (cathode-ray tube) monitor contain several important components inside, and the components contain hazardous materials as well. Especially, CRT monitors contain lead, cadmium and mercury which can seep into the groundwater and soil if the CRT monitor is crushed at a landfill. So, the monitors need to be recycled properly to keep the hazardous materials out of the environment. The following are tips for recycle your unwanted/ unused/old computer monitors and CRT monitor:

· Before recycling your unused monitor, consider that if it is still in working condition, try to check with a local charities organization or schools, your unused monitor might be useful for people who need it.

· However, if your unused monitor is non-working or extremely old, you can search to find recycle center or service that accept the monitors on our website.

· Some computer manufacturer has programs that allow you to return the monitor or trade it in new equipment. So, ask the computer manufacturer when you prepare to buy a monitor whether it accepts your old computer or CRT monitors for recycling. Also, some retail stores will recycle your old computer monitor or CTR monitor for a small fee after you purchase a new computer from them.

· Check out the computer or CRT manufacturer if you are not buying a new computer. The Environmental Protection Agency or EPA notes that most manufacturers offer some type of mail back computer monitors or CRT monitors recycling program for a small fee.
